You recently came to my house to repair a wall In my guest bedroom. The wall had bellied out for a number of years but I was putting off having it repaired because I thought it would mean substantial work. I also wanted to have new coving fitted so that my 2 bedrooms would look the same. You came and did an appraisal for the necessary work and gave me an
estimate.
A week later, you started the work by knocking off the old bellied out wall. I thought the whole wall would need attention but you quickly reassured me that only a large patch of wall would need replastering. After finishing the patch which felt like glass, you started putting up the coving. You did not use cheap coving - it was proper plaster coving, just like my other bedroom. It looked fabulous.
The best part of your work was the final price - CHEAPER THAN THE QUOTE!

As my previous experience with having Tiling done was not a success I didn't have my main bathroom tiled. I also wanted to create a different look. This room has a black carpet and white bathroom suite. The bath is free standing and as the suite was already in place it was never going to be a straightforward task.
Andrew took on board my idea for something different and when I said that I wanted mosaic tiles in lines up the wall he quickly suggested a New York skyline appearance. In fact I now have 4 different types of tile creating a cttyscape. The walls in the bathroom are tiled to perfection and it is a lovely space where I can relax...........I do like my candles and glass of something while soaking in a concoction perfumed by lush. As a result of hearing some good reports about your work at BNI. I commissioned you to do some piasterwork at our new shop in the Wayfarers Arcade, Southport. As far as I was concerned it was going to be a bit of filling and skimming but when we removed some old cabinets things changed somewhat. The whole shop had to be stripped out some areas treated for dry rot and old windows were discovered behind some units. We now had to have the whole shop rewired and you worked in tandem with Michael Bateson to schedule the work effectively and systematically.
You assessed all the new work and gave advice as to the best way forward. This was now a full weeks work of battening, boarding and plastering with a bit of floor screeding thrown in. What we really liked about your work was your attention to detail and the fact that you presented solutions to problems that were discovered. You were extremely patient when we found old heating pipes and several bits of old plumbing which necessitated removal and amendment of your plans. You finished the job to an extremely high standard and your attitude throughout was one of achieving the best for us and not necessarily the easiest for you.
The shop looks fantastic and the quality of your work made decorating and fitting out so much easier. Your price was very reasonable and despite the challenges you came in on budget and on time. Andy Davies is a man of good character and high standards and is respected by his colleagues. We will have no hesitation in recommending him to others and have in fact done so. If you need a plasterer then Andy is the man to be trusted.

I wanted to drop you a line to thank you for your efforts at my mother's recent 80th birthday party.
As I explained to you we wanted to improve and disguise the look of the flat concrete path area at the venue and also take peoples eyes up to the raised portion at the rear so that if the weather was nice the outside area could be used for informal gatherings. You provided a number of plants in containers some at a low level, some tall structural plants, some topiary and some mixed bloom plantings that gave the whole area a nice look and feel.
Even though the weather was a bit mixed the outside area did get used later n the day but in any case the view form inside overlooking the patio was neatly enhanced by the plants that you provided. The planters were chosen by you, delivered by you. arranged by you and collected by you after the event - and all this was provided well within the budget I had allocated for this.
Many of the 200 guests commented on the planters and of course they were already familiar with the Barton Grange brand. I will have no hesitation in using you again.

A few months ago I made the decision to advertise my business in your HOME HANDBOOK. I don't normally advertise and the only form of promotion I have is BNI. I chose your publication as it was totally unique in design compared to all the other booklets of its kind. I like the fact that the write up is personalised, and the inclusion of a colour photograph of me and my van makes the £60 pounds I spent extremely good value.
So far, I have received over £1,600 of business and have a further £600 of business in the pipeline. My latest client said "THE HOME HANDBOOK IS MY BIBLE" as she has just moved house and requires plenty of work doing.

Thank You So Very Much! When my mother stated that she wanted to get someone to paint her hall, stairs and landing, my heart dropped a little. Who did I know who I felt confident could do the job? Who did I know who could do that and not upset a 79 year old lady?

I must express my sincere thanks to Clive Turner for his assistance in arranging a motor insurance policy for me recently. It was the first time I was due to take out a policy under my own name, rather than as a named driver, so I knew I would have trouble finding a reasonable quote. Having recently taken out a buildings and contents insurance policy via Clive, I wanted to provide a testimonial towards the service and product we received. Like probably millions of other domestic insurance customers, we have for many years now relied on Confused.com to trawl the market and come up with the cheapest quote.
Following Clive's presentation to the group at BNI about the insurance industry, I decided to run my renewal papers past him. The results were quite surprising. Confused.com had last year indeed provided us with the cheapest cover BUT, we were under-insured by approx. £30k on our contents, more worryingly still by approx. £50k on our buildings cover, and if we did need to claim our excess was nearly as much as the premium itself! This was after answering the questions as clearly and honestly as we could. As I have lived in a multi-vehicle family for some time, car and van insurance is something that has haunted me for many years. No sooner would I sort out the insurance on one of my daughter's cars, then it would be time to sort out the insurance on my wife's car, then my van etc. The insurance process would involve me sat at a computer for several hours comparing all the different permutations which, in a nutshell, meant finding the cheapest price going and making sure I could pay by instalments. CONFUSED.COM. I certainly was until one day I met Clive.

Recently one of my clients was involved in a hit and run accident when the other party disappeared so fast that their details to this day remain unknown. It was a business vehicle, my client needed the vehicle to be repaired as soon as possible but obviously as the third party was unknown the 'insurance solution' to this accident was going to cost him both the policy excess and the loss of no claims bonus.
When my client contacted me I advised him that the with the policy excess and premium change he would be looking at an additional cost in year one of £750 and a cost on year two of about £200. I referred my client to Stuart to see if he could help and using his network of some 200 pre-used parts suppliers he managed to find my client replacement parts at a fraction of their new cost and effected a complete repair of the vehicle for some £600.
Not only was this a good saving for my client against an insurance claim but Stuart was also able to have the vehicle repaired immediately.
When I provide a referral I do like to find out the outcome and so last week I called my client and asked him how he had got on with JSM and what was the quality of the repair work. Having got to know Stuart it was of no surprise to me that my client had received good service and he was completely happy with the repair.

I recently had a minor bump in my wife's car and did a small amount of damage to the rear bumper. It was not enough damage to make out an insurance claim but the mark spoilt the whole look of the car. Having assessed the damage, you very quickly took the car in and provided me with a courtesy car.
During the repair period, you contacted me to tell me some bad news - the bumper was in fact cracked at the back and was in need of replacing. With your many contacts, you managed to locate a rear bumper and replaced it at no extra charge as there was no filling or major preparation to do.

Thank you tor the recent repair work you did on my car. A few months ago I have an accident when reversing. In a rush I backed into a car that had suddenly stopped behind me. Instead of making a claim on my insurance I asked you, if you could repair the dent in my rear bumper and if it would be cost effective to do it this way, to save paying the excess and losing part of my no claims bonus.
Right from the start I was impressed by your expertise and knowledge, plus you took time to explain the process. In January this year, I was involved in an accident at the corner of Black Bull Lane and King's Drive. I was stationary waiting to turn left when a car came fast round the corner and struck the off side of my van. It was Friday evening about 7.00pm and despite being rather shaken, I managed to drive home slowly. On my return home, I rang your business partner who I had met through another BNI connection and told him of my dilemma - he asked me to bring the van into the garage the next morning.
After a thorough check of my vehicle, he advised me not to drive it and gave me a lift back home. He said I would be entitled to a courtesy vehicle. Within 4 hours you arrived with my courtesy vehicle and after completion of some very simple forms, you told me I would have this vehicle for the duration of the repairs. I was therefore able to carry on with my business the following Monday.
In addition to carrying out a first class repair, you also helped me through the claims process. You organised a solicitor to contact me and sure enough I got a phone call on the Monday. Not only has your company got my van back to tip-top condition, it has also taken away the stress and worry of having an accident. You made us feel relaxed and at ease telling us why you needed the office window open after your last client. I won't go into that.

You explained with what I wanted to spend on the property we would maybe be better finding some other way of raising the funds. This meaning you wouldn't make anything out of the business other financial advisers would have pushed us down the mortgage route. You were different seeing what was best for us. Then to top it off you found a way we could make £400 from staying with our existing mortgage provider.

I would like to place on record our appreciation for the work carried by Les at our old house in Hutton. The house was a little old 19 century cottage with 2 bedrooms of which were carpeted. The main bedroom carpet had seen better days. No matter how many times we ran the hoover over, it just wouldn't look any better. We were renting the cottage at the time and as part of the move out procedure we had to have the carpets professionally cleaned.
Les managed to fit us in at short notice and even carried out the work out of normal working hours, well, normal working hours to me anyway! He did a fantastic job in both bedrooms, managing to extract even more long dark hairs out of the carpets than are currently left on my fiance's head! He left nothing for the letting agents to pick fault with. In fact they were in a lot better condition than when we moved in.

This testimonial is slightly unusual in as much as one is usually given when a job is completed and we express our gratitude this way for a job well done. I am writing this testimonial for a job that wasn't carried out!
A couple of weeks ago, I invited your company to my house to try out your tile cleaning method on my kitchen and utility floor. You arrrived with your brother on time and proceeded to explain to me what - you said you would do a test patch in the utility room. After completing the clean, there was a slight difference in the newly cleaned tiles adn the old ones. However because the tiles are made of a riven black ceramic, the difference was very slight. You both concluded that it would be pointless to carry out a full clean as this slight difference would not be cost effective for me.
What an honest approach to business! In this day and age, people are all too ready to take your money but not your company. I applaude your honesty and integrity and will have no hestitation in recommending you to my clients and friends in the future.

4 years ago I had extensive work done when I moved house. Most of the tradesmen worked very well for me and had I been in BNI then I am sure I would have done testimonials for them. The tiling in the shower room however was not up to standard, in fact the walls were left in a poor state with grout left to harden on the unglazed tiles. The effect was supposed to be Roman......I was at the time in my Roman phase....but the effect was more medieval. After much elbow grease I gave up and knocked money off the bill to be paid.
lain and his brother recently called at my house to check the tiles in the shower room and dean a test patch to see if their cleaning method would help. I want to report that lain spent all day cleaning tiles and reseating the grout lines so that the room now looks how it should have been 4 years ago. Good enough for Mark Anthony. I am so over the moon that I can now be proud of the effect and when any of my friend come to visit, they get a tile viewing.

Cheryl and I would like to place on record our appreciation for the work done to new shop at the Wayfarers Arcade in Southport. We have had a business in the arcade for a few years and we moved to a larger unit earlier this year. The unit had a lovely black and grey tiled floor which was showing signs of hard wear and not looking quite as good as it should. We then had a load of building work to be carried out and when all was finished it was looking even more "tired". We asked you to come and have a look and you advised that the age and condition of the tile would make it difficult to get to a good standard but you would do your best.
You arrived with your equipment and took every care to ensure the machinery, hoses and cables did not cause any problems for the public in the arcade. You were very thorough in ensuring that the job was started right to finish right. While you were working I was very aware of how much care you took to check every millimetre of tile to remove stains and marks. You kept me informed of progress and any issues such as defective tiles where holes and chips were now to be seen as a result of clearing off the years of dirt and wear. This enabled me to repair these previously unseen faults and when the floor was finished I was really impressed with the result. You had made a "silk purse out of a sow's ear"
